So, to answer I thought I would share a note I recieved from a patient a few years ago that I think sums it up pretty well.
"You have been treating me for approximately 3 years and often times I wonder if, in fact, my symptoms may have disappeared should I stop using my bioidentical hormones.
Three weeks ago I had elbow surgery and was so pre-occupied with post-operative treatment that I didn't apply my ointment medication for 2 weeks.
Within a week or less I noticed I felt a little uncomfortable in my clothes and within one week to ten days my hot flashes were at a "once every half hour" frequency.
Needless to say I resumed my bioidentical treatment and again I am symptom free.
So, for the women who ask "How long should I continue with my bioidentical hormone replace therapy?", I'm sure an answer could be, "as long as you want to feel good."
Also, I want to thank you for your commitment to women's health and all that you have done for me personally.
