One of my patients is getting married in May, another has her 25th college reunion in June. Both are on the 6 months program and doing very well.
Both have been diligent with the journal, the diet, exercise, stress management, tonics, supplements and, of course, bioidentcial hormones and thyroid if needed.
For those of you already familiar with the 6 months program, you know a lot about my little tricks that work so well to get us back on track, back into the mood, moving forward at all costs.
Here is another trick we developed while these two wonderful women were working their tails off to get to their ultimate peak performance levels for their important occasions.
Life is full of unexpected twists and turns. One thing we know for sure, we have no idea what is going to happen next. The woman who is getting married in July had to go on an unexpected business trip to the Far East for two weeks last month. When I saw her upon her return from the trip, she was very discouraged. She had fallen off the wagon. While she did continue to take her hormones and supplements, she was unable to maintain her exercise and diet programs. She had gained a few pounds and was really depressed.
The second woman had a family emergency. Her single sister had emergency surgery 3,000 miles away and two children in need of a mother for a few weeks. My patient flew across the country to the rescue. While away, she left her diet, exercise and hormones back home and found herself in pretty much the same state of depression and disappointment as the business woman.
My heart went out to both my patients. They both felt so guilty and defeated.
First, we needed to make sure no one felt guilty. They hadn’t done anything wrong. They both dealt with life and life made it a bit difficult to stay on the 6 months program. While listening to them I also understood why so many diet, exercise, you name it programs fail us. We have no safety net. When something happens and we cannot follow the program, we feel defeated and we give up. We have no tools to pick up where we left off and just start again, or better yet, continue.
So, I came up with the One Week Allowance Trick.
When you fall off the wagon, when life throws you a curve ball, anytime actually that you cannot do it, just don’t.
Stop the diet, stop the hormones. Stop the exercise program, Give yourself one week off. Do whatever you want and forget you are trying to get into balance.
Then, the following Monday, go back to the balancing plan.
Start with your Ultraclear, your hormones, the hormone friendly foods, get back on the treadmill, look at yourself in the mirror and see a radiant, happy, positive and balanced woman who just took one week off. Regardless where you are or what you’re doing.
I promise, it’ll work!
